Where can I find a huge selection of ring mountings for a large gemstone?
I have searched eBay and the internet without luck.
I have an 10 X 12 gemstone and want it surrounded by 2 mm stones which I have.
This is surprisingly hard to find. I am trying to avoid hunting through a catalog of mountings at a jewelry store.

There are ready made castings that will work for this and jewelers have huge catalogs of them but isn’t there one online I can order from?

This is an easy one…Go to http://www.riogrande.com and order there gems and findings catalog…It will cost you ten bucks but I guarantee it will be the best 10 bucks you will ever spend..You will never shop in a jewelry store the same way when you know what settings really cost us…Dont tell anybody I told you that last part…lol
The catalog I mentioned is for jewelry makers but it is also a mounting catalog for what you are looking for…Big difference is you will pay about a third of what you will pay by ordering from your jewelers catalog…Where do you think they get there stuff from before marking it up 300%…lol
You can try tripps.com they have an online catalog of mountings but I still think you will love the rio grande catalog enough to justify the 10 bucks for any jewelry you will ever want in the future…tahoeman_69@yahoo.com

Have something custom cast
Many independant jewelry stores can do this for you. If you want something excatly the way you want it, you have to have it custom made. It’s not terribly expensive, probably a few hundred bucks or less for the design, cast, finish, and setting of all stones.
BTW- setting 2mm stones is really difficult if you are an amatuer.

I have seen ads for custom jewelry making..rings etc..These ads in San Diego are in the Reader a weekly alternative type of paper that keeps getting more and more mainstream..Check if your city has a similar weekly..good luck
