I want to make my own jewelry, like beaded necklaces and bracelets with heavy crosses that have rhinestones and other pendants on them. Where can I find a good jewelry supplier catalog? Or an online supplier? And also, how would I go about pricing the pieces? Google didn’t work. If you can help me out that would be awesome!

Hi, A website you must know is http://www.jewelry-diy.com
There are lots of loose beads, jewelry bag/box. They offer wholesale price for ebay power sellers and other online shops. discount coupon code: DISCOUNT , 10% off.

http://www.firemountaingems.com has an awesome catalogue. Customer service is great. You can call to get a free catalogue and start from there. There are tons of other suppliers but most of them would require a business or tax ID to deal with.

http://www.landofodds.com has a formula tells you how to price your jewelry. Again there are other formulas. Go to barns and noble or library near you to find reference books like selling your handmade crafts, turning your hobby/craft into business, crafts business answer book, etc.

Wearing your own jewelry is the best advertisement. Word-of-month is the cheapest marketing stratergy. Talk to jewelry makers who are already in business. Visit crafts/bead shows or local bead store.

My business is wholesale fashion jewelry including rhinestone jewelry so I am familiar with the questions facing you. On pricing, we always tell customers to at least double (this is called keystone in the fashion industry).

Concerning findings, beads, and components for making your own jewelry—Threemon suggested Firemountain gems as a supplier. They are a reputable company than many crafters use. Rio Grande is another one especially valuable for anyone doing work in sterling. Search online for “wholesale beads” and “wholesale jewelry findings”. Also check your area for gem and mineral shows. If all else fails, try wholesale portals like Wholesale Central.
